The 55 Road Disc is a speed inspired disc brake specific wheelset that thrives in faster speeds and events. The big brother to the 36 Road Disc, the 55s are a great option for those who live in flat to rolling terrain and are looking for a disc brake specific wheelset. With a massive 22mm internal width, the 55mm pairs perfectly with the growing popularity of running 28mm and larger tires on the road. This helps with handling, comfort, and lowering the rolling resistance for those long days in the saddle. A 2.5mm nipple offset helps to balance the spoke tension between drive and non-drive spokes, making for a better balanced, and stronger wheel. Finally, a disc brake specific carbon layup helps to reduce weight while keeping the same strength. Because this is not a repurposed rim brake rim, we don’t have to build up the carbon for a brake track. The result is weight savings with no skimping on the stiffness and durability. We took a long look at making a wheelset specific to disc brake bikes, not just making them an after-thought.

Our most aero wheelset ever! You are bullet fast, these will make you faster! Every second and watt counts, and this wheel is the fastest. Designed for situations where aerodynamics are most important. For events longer distance triathlons, pairing a rear 90mm with a front 60mm can be the perfect set up! The 90mm rim is 25mm wide, with a 17mm internal width. This is still a nice wide rim profile, but not quite as wide as some of our other carbons or alloys. The reason for this is to "pinch" the tire a little bit more for better head on aerodynamics. Also, chances are you are not running 28mm tires or larger gravel tires on the 90mm depth so we could optimize it for that 23/25mm tire set up. Forget going to the Time Trial and losing at max-effort by a few seconds. These are your cheat code!

Not long ago disc brake bikes were relegated to the endurance and recreation crowd. They were looked as a way to run larger tires, with slacker geometry. . .perfect for the all-day cyclist who was in no particular hurry. Then, racers started getting ahold of disc brakes and realized the benefits of better braking and larger tires. A hot debate ensued and continues to this day. Even the UCI (governing body of bike racing) got involved which never makes anything easy. However, the technology has won and today you see disc brakes used on race bikes for all racing conditions. The last hold out was the aero purist crowd. However, with the ability to run hidden cables and with no fork mounted brake caliper available, disc brake bikes soon surpassed rim brake bikes in terms of aero drag. This led the way for the newest crop of time trial and triathlon disc brake bikes which have leapt in popularity. The 90mm Road Disc wheelset is born from that desire to pair an incredibly aero wheelset to that newly designed aero bike. If you are looking to be as aero as possible for those efforts against the clock, this is the best way to propel yourself forward.
